In 2015, Polish National Committee of ICOMOS inaugurated a series of annual meetings designed for assorted professionals from cultural heritage field. The series is named the Summer School and its purpose is to present the most current issues of heritage protection. It gives participants the opportunity to share experiences and to learn about the most important conservation activities presented in various places in Poland, where important things happen for conservation and preservation of monuments.
The first edition of the PKN ICOMOS Summer School took place between 20-22 July 2015 in Szczecin. The next editions were held in Gdynia, 6-8 July 2016; Toruń, 12-14 July 2017 and Przemyśl-Krasiczyn, 28-31 August 2017.
The summer school is addressed primarily to young professionals from different fields related to heritage protection. This is a great chance to gain some new knowledge and valuable experience, that are useful, practical and will help in the work at monuments. Participants should have basic knowledge and some work experience. Summer school is not only addressed to PKN ICOMOS members, but to all professionals that are actively engaged in heritage protection and conservation of monuments, who want to find out about recent conservation accomplishments. This can be achieved thanks to your active participation in interesting presentations and lively discussions.
TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
The number of participants is limited due to the need of keeping the mobility of the group. Regarding this, the organisers may qualify the participants on the basis of a special application form and an appendix containing information about the candidate. It is recommended to provide the reference from recognised heritage protection institution or a professional.
Attendance is free of charge. Participants must cover the cost of transport, accommodation and food, according to your own needs.
We invite the voivodeship and self-government conservation officers, heads of academic institutions and other institutions to recommend and delegate employees to participate in the Summer School.
